It seems like a simple question, right? Yet, we find ourselves repeating the same bad habits over and over again, struggling to become the person we want to be and blowing up the lives of people around us while we're at it.
And the worst part—we were raised to believe that men should reject their emotions and pull themselves up by their own bootstraps. So we try and make it on our own with no real plan, just trying to climb the ladder for more of something we don't even know we want.
Constantly letting down the people you love?
Worried you'll never be good enough?
Lack motivation and discipline?
Always trying to do it on your own?
Misaligned priorities?
Lack of close relationships with other men?
Always have your guard up, even with your family?
Find it hard to trust people because you've been burned in the past?
Now, you're probably asking yourself, "Why do this?"
Listen, we get it. With the number of personalities and online businesses fighting for your attention, you have your guard up from the start. It's easy to question the intention behind something like this, especially when we all have a million other things going on.
There are a few reasons we started The Herd, but first and foremost, it's to help men become the person God created them to be.
There are too many men wandering through life on their own and destroying things—or people—along the way. When men get intentional about building up all four areas of their life (heart, soul, mind, strength) lives change. We're here to help coach men through that journey.
We've reinvested the profits into the infrastructure at Moss Rock Ranch so we can host more intimate retreats off the grid, in the woods, and around a fire pit. There's just something special that happens when men connect with nature.

Our Vision
We envision a world where women feel safe and cared for.
We envision a world where men can trust each other and be vulnerable.
We envision a world where men jump at the opportunity to help a neighbor.
We envision a world where men are a coveted resource instead of a "Social Burden".
We envision a world where kids know they are loved and protected by their fathers.
We envision a world where husbands listen to and share emotions with their wives.
We envision a world where fathers pass along the wisdom of what it means to be a man to their sons and daughters.
Are you ready to help make this vision a reality for the people in your life?
Herd Strong is a limited coaching and development program for men who are looking to better their lives together. Our goal is to make these men more well-rounded by developing all four areas of a man's life—Heart, Soul, Mind, and Strength.
Most men have not been taught how to lean into the areas of their life where they are lacking, so they try and compensate by powering up in other areas.
When you join Herd Strong, you join a select group of men who will partner with you to learn new skills, set big goals, hold you accountable, and become a more well-rounded man.
You will face leadership challenges, be invited to member-only events, participate in monthly Q&A with experts in different fields, develop friendships through ten-person cohorts, gain exclusive access to Herd Strong leaders, learn through new e-courses every month, receive one on one leadership mentoring, and get early access to all events.
"My mission is to remind men that what God says is true and possible for them is still true and possible for them no matter what they've done or what's been done to them."
Chances are, since you're on this site, you already know who I am. At the same time, if you're anything like me, you're thinking:
"Why should I trust you, and what makes you so special?"
Let me be the first to tell you, there's nothing special about me. I'm just a few more steps down the road and have a gift for teaching people what I've learned.
I have no desire to talk down or belittle anyone for where they're at in life just to give me an ego boost.
I also don't think I have all the answers, which is why we have multiple leaders and coaches constantly rotating through Herd Strong, all of whom are experts in their field.
Why Start The Herd and Herd Strong?
Men were created to be in community with other men, yet we live in a world of isolation, loneliness, and emotional unhealth. Our vision is to build a community—a “shield wall” of strong men who have linked arms/horns together to pursue Biblical masculinity in order to provide for and protect their families and serve their communities.
What Qualifies You To Help Other Men?
Over the past 40 years, I’ve had the honor of pastoring and leading men, young and old, here in the US and around the world.
By the grace of God, I’ve been married to Robin for 38 years. My two adult children, Ali and Jordan, both love Jesus and are in ministry. We haven’t done it perfectly, but we’re all still holding onto Jesus and onto one another as a family.
The biggest challenge I’ve tackled is facing the wounds and scars of abuse in my past. I chose a season of sin and darkness in an attempt to avoid those wounds. Now, after truly believing I am forgiven, I'm on a journey of healing, encouraging men to find that same forgiveness and healing that saved me.
Why Now Instead of Planning My Retirement?
Frankly, it sound boring. Retirement is a man-made construct which suggests that, at a certain age, a person’s work is finished and now they drift off into a self-serving sunset until they die. Not me. I plan on pouring my life and everything that God has taught me into the next generation of men.
Some generous donors have partnered with us to help offset the price of Herd Strong for men under 35. If that's you we have a short scholarship application you can fill out by clicking the button below, then someone from our leadership team will reach out.
Is Herd Strong Nationwide or Just Colorado?
God doesn’t move in isolation and we're convinced that what God is about to do in the hearts and lives of the men of The Herd is bigger than one church, one city or one state. We believe that God is about to raise up men all over the planet to redeem their lives, their marriages, their families, their churches and their communities. The world is getting darker. Historically, Gods solution is to raise up strong, Godly men who will shine light into the darkest places.
I can't afford the $67 per month, are there scholarships or discounts available?
There are limited scholarships available for men under 35 who want to join Herd Strong. There is also plenty of content available for free on our YouTube channel, Social Media platforms, website, and podcast. You can also find over a dozen years of sermons at flatironschurch.com
