Late post today.
"Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus." Acts 4:13
A common theme throughout the Bible is God chooses ordinary, broken men to further His Kingdom. Moses didn't want to be chosen. Didn't feel qualified. David was a hot mess for awhile and the disciples were uneducated, normal guys. Boys at that time aspired to follow in the steps of their rabbi. If you weren't among the chosen you were sent off to fish or work with your hands somehow. Yet Jesus called the 12 disciples that weren't of any special significance. Jesus uses any story to further his kingdom.
I just watched the latest series with Micah and Jim talking about how God will use your story. What I've learned is God will redeem any story for His glory. No matter what you're facing and the battles you're facing, God will turn your story for good. This is what Jesus does.
I watched a few guys show up this weekend and courageously share their stories. It was heavy listening to what some men have gone through in life. However I know that God will use what they've gone through for His glory. I've seen it in my own life and I witness it throughout the Herd.
I encourage you to keep showing up, keep being honest and vulnerable in your groups. Never under estimate the power that your story has in helping other people. When men have the freedom to share, honestly what they've faced it builds a bond and a trust among your cohort or tribe of men. Your story matters and God will use it and redeem it if you let Him.
Have a great night.
