EXIT STRATEGY!!!!???!!??!?!?!? What’s your exit strategy? Are you finishing strong? Have you slacked off?
As you finish Herd 90, I encourage you to make an exit strategy. Are there habits to permanently delete from your life? Are there habits to continue?
I say this, because I didn’t have a strategy when I finished a couple years ago. I finished Herd 90 on Cinco de Mayo, and I was excited to celebrate with a margarita- and it tasted great!!! But I let my guard down, and after a couple more margaritas I picked up my computer and went down a road that I hadn’t been on in years!
I am grateful to have a community that I could bring this to, and they supported me---they still do!
Satan is waiting at the finish line, and wants to destroy and kill us!! We can’t lose ground!!
Men, I need you. I was doing so good with Herd 90. Last week, I fell out of integrity. I had gone almost 90 days without acting out lustfully and not drinking. Last Tuesday, I fell. The last week has been a struggle. I felt that I had a ton of positive momentum from doing Herd 90. I was beginning to come out of a fog and really feeling close to God, to others and to my purpose. I struggle with depression and anxiety and both of those feel like they have come back like a floodgate. I do not want to return to that place of isolation, depression and captivity. I need your help, I want to step back into strength, grace, identity and love.

Super late homework: What is shaking in me that God wants to strengthen? Grief, i gotta give myself permission to let it go
How do you show up to the people around you when you’re angry or disappointed? - i can be a jerk, i have rough edges. I want to shrink when i get disappointed but i can’t quit. I’ll just learn from it, keep going.
Am I responding in faith and greater determination to serve God, or shrinking back in fear? Either I lost my mind or I’m a man of faith. Thankfully, God’s my judge 😉
Philippians 1:21 “For me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. Therefore, I will stand for CHRIST ✝️
Men, good morning, I hope the week has started out well. I am going to challenge us with some more questions.
Has anything come up that was unexpected?
Unexpected breakthroughs?
Unexpected strongholds or places you are stuck you didn’t see coming?
Take some time and share some thoughts on this men.
That is awesome brother. My wife and I started calling those moments when we feel God clicking some gears in our mind or moments of clarity “embraces”
Im pumped for you man and I can’t wait to see what God continues to do in you and you have a group of men surrounding and encouraging you as well.
Good morning men! I wanted to encourage us this morning. Yesterday I asked what was something that has taken root. For me it is journaling. I had done Herd 90 a couple years ago as well and journaling has become a daily practice. Something I never saw myself doing lol. Started out awkward and over the years has turned into one of the best ways of ive found to get thoughts out and bring things to Jesus and hear from Him. My encouragement in this is that it doesn’t have to be a huge 180 degree turn around. I don’t do it perfectly that’s for sure. What are some things and ways you can get those gears moving one click at a time until they start spinning more smoothly. Ahhooo.

Good morning men! My name is Riley Oharah, I have been a part of a cohort in Herd Strong for over a year and also am a guide myself since October. It is my privilege to be here with you men this week.
We began this as not only a challenge to hone in on some discipline in our lives. Desires of spending more time in God's Word, to get back on track with diets or exercise. But more importantly to forge practices to draw closer to Jesus. My question for you as we begin this week is,
"What things have started to take root over this time? Something that you've found that has changed your relationship with Jesus?"
The Story: From the Edge of the Jungle to the Heart of the Herd
Imagine a little girl named Maria, 8 years old, scooped off the streets of Guatemala after years of abandonment and abuse. No one to hold her. No one to tell her she matters. The government entrusts her to Casa Agua Azul — the safe house run by Blue Water Surrender, a Christ-centered home on the shores of Lake Izabal in the Rio Dulce jungle. Ted, Gayle, and Director Jerry Makepeace pour the love of Jesus into these kids every single day. They break the cycle. They heal hearts. They raise them strong in the Lord so that when they come of age… they don’t disappear into the darkness.
Because here’s the brutal truth: too many Guatemalan orphanage kids age out with nowhere to go. No family. No skills. No hope. And that’s when the traffickers move in. The streets become their new “home.” The traffic claims them. But not at Casa Agua Azul. Not on our watch.
This is where YOU come in.
I’m taking a small crew of brave men and women (18-24 year olds, plus a father-son duo if the Lord brings the right one) to Casa Agua Azul March 18-24 — that’s NEXT MONTH. We’ll live the Gospel with these kids. Play soccer on the field next to the house. Help with projects. Worship together. Love them back to life. And I’ll be filming a raw, short documentary-style video to tell their story to the world.
This isn’t just a trip.
This is Herd 90 in real life.
Every single Herd 90 discipline — the Bible reading, the daily act of kindness, the 45-minute outdoor workouts (try sweating by a jungle lake at sunrise), the gallon of water, the fasting from excuses, the journaling, the prayer — we’re doing it all right there in Guatemala. Spiritual fire. Mental toughness. Physical grit. Emotional breakthrough. All while serving the fatherless exactly as Psalm 82:3 commands.
FOCUSED
One week. One orphanage. One clear mission: show up for these kids before the world swallows them. Spots are extremely limited. We leave from Fort Lauderdale on American Airlines. Flights are bookable right now.
AUTHORITY
This is a legitimate, government-recognized safe house (BlueWaterSurrender.org). Ted & Gayle have been faithfully running it since 2015. I’ve already locked in the dates with them. I’m bringing my crew. The documentary will honor their work and shine light on the need. This is not vacation — this is obedience.
TRIBE
This is The Herd showing up as the strong, biblical men and women we’re called to be. Young lions and lionesses stepping up. Dads and sons forging legacy side-by-side. A small band of brothers and sisters who refuse to scroll past the suffering. When we get home, the whole Strong group gets to see the footage, celebrate the wins, and feel the fire we bring back. You won’t just hear about Herd 90 transformation — you’ll live it and lead it.
EMOTION
Picture this: a 10-year-old boy who’s never had a father figure looks you in the eyes and calls you “hermano.” A little girl who was trafficked before she was rescued grabs your hand during worship and won’t let go. You come home changed forever. Stronger in your faith. Tighter with your tribe. Proud that you didn’t just talk about being a leader — you actually went and defended the fatherless.
But if you wait… the seats fill. The flights jump in price. The week passes. And those kids keep waiting for the next team that might never come.
This is urgent. Next month. March 18-24.
If you’re one of the brave few the Lord is stirring right now — man or woman, 18-24 or a dad ready to bring his son — DM me TODAY. Say “GUATEMALA” and I’ll send you the full details, cost breakdown, and flight info.
We’re not just doing Herd 90.
We’re taking it to the jungle to rescue the next generation.
Who’s jumping on board?
The Herd doesn’t wait. The Herd moves.
Let’s go change some eternities.
See you in Guatemala.

Men, I hope that this post doesn't get buried by Pete Millers work out check ins. I do not think it is a coincidence that we have started the book of Isaiah this past week. I think it lines up perfectly with what is going on in our country right now. We have gotten to a place in our society that pure evil is on full display, we have become a society that no longer protects the orphans and widows. In Isaiah chapter 2 there is a phrase written down several times that refers to "the terror of the Lord". Furthermore, we are told to be a people that protect the innocent, plead the case of the widows, orphans and oppressed. I am full of anger and outrage over what has been uncovered in these files. As men of God, how are we going to respond to this? How are we going to plead the case of the voiceless? What is our role in this? What is God calling us to do? I know I'm not the only one who is searing with anger over this. What can we do?
Isaiah 6:8
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”
And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
Who will go with me?
Good morning gentlemen, welcome to day 39!
During the Christmas season my family got into the rhythm of daily reading the Bible together, we did a chapter of Luke aday for our advent reading. It became something I really wanted to make a permanent habit though. So I was excited to realize I could have them join me in the reading plan for Herd 90. It has started to come to the point of a habit that my older boys know that is part of how we end our days. It was also nice to incorporate them as a way to spend time with them since I have had to budget my time accordingly with everything we have going on while committing to complete Herd 90. They have also joined to varying degrees in the works, usually my outdoor walks, but the nightly reading has been the main push to do along with our bedtime prayers.
Here is the war prayer for the day:
FEBRUARY 12
Open up, ancient gates! Open up, ancient doors, and let the King of
glory enter.
-Psalm 24:7
JEHOVAH-SABBAOTh, THE GOD OF THE HEAVENLY ARMIES,
We stand before the ancient gates and wait for your
triumphal entry.
As you ride into the city, all will see your glory.
As you pass through the ancient doors, all will know your
majesty.
Even your enemies will bow low and grovel before you
Let there be loud, joyous praise in your ears!
You are worthy.
You are worthy.
You are worthy.
Amen
Here's to another day!
Good morning men, welcome to day 38!
Another part of this challenge I am coming to enjoy is the daily journal. I have just been doing a quick emotional check-in at the end of the day and it has been nice to look back and see why I was reacting the way I was or in the mood I was in. My wife and I have been trying to do weekly check-ins as well, just a dedicated time to reconnect and talk about how the weeks been and what's coming up. Those daily journal entries have been a useful tool to discuss what's been highs and lows for the week.
Here's the war prayer for today:
February 11
The LORD is a friend to those who fear him. He teaches them his covenant. My eyes are always on the LORD, for he rescues me from the traps of my enemies
-Psalm 25: 14-15
O LORD, the Mighty and awesome God of the Heavens,
We come to you trembling in the Name of your Son, Christ Jesus.
Your Word says you are a friend to those who fear you.
It is in your Word, so it must be true, but how can we comprehend such a thing;
We are vapor and dust. We are a breath of wind, and nothing more.
Who are we to be called your friend?
Holy Spirit, keep our eyes always fixed upon you.
We want the blessing of being rescued from the traps of our enemies.
May you be glorified in every way.
Amen.
Let's concur another day!
Good morning men. Welcome to day 37.
I have found lately my prayer life has been more of a check mark, sometimes in the morning, usually as I'm going to bed. During this challenge I have enjoyed strengthing my prayer life. One tool that has really helped me pray bolder prayers is War Prayers by Cliff Graham. Today's reading and prayer is:
FEBRUARY 10
But I will sing of your strength; I will sing aloud of your steadfast
love in the morning. For you have been to me a fortress and a
refuge in the day of my distress. 0 my Strength, I will sing praises
to you, for you, O God, are my fortress, the God who shows me
steadfast love.
-psalm 59:16-17
CHRIST OUR LORD,
We praise you in the days of fatigue.
When all seems lost, the Enemy does not expect us to sing,
but sing we will.
We will sing of your Kingdom.
We will sing of your strength in distant battlefields.
We will sing of your power over the mountains.
We will sing of you as our fortress and our deliverer.
Amen
Here's to conquering the day!
Good evening men, I get the pleasure of encouragement this week. With that said as I am setting down to do my journal for the day I realized I haven't posted anything for today!
This is Day 36, for everyone still in, great work. I have noticed everything is becoming more of a habit. I'm really coming to enjoy how the morning workouts give me time with God and help me set my body up to conquer the day.
I also decided last minute to fast from social media and deleted it, and man has that been awesome! Talk about finding some time!
I hope everyone is finding some positive habits and coming to enjoy the disciplines that are a part of this challenge.
Also if there are any prayer requests for this week please either commitment under this post or message me and I'd be glad to add it to my prayers for the week. Thanks for allowing me to walk with you all this week!
Late post today.
"Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus." Acts 4:13
A common theme throughout the Bible is God chooses ordinary, broken men to further His Kingdom. Moses didn't want to be chosen. Didn't feel qualified. David was a hot mess for awhile and the disciples were uneducated, normal guys. Boys at that time aspired to follow in the steps of their rabbi. If you weren't among the chosen you were sent off to fish or work with your hands somehow. Yet Jesus called the 12 disciples that weren't of any special significance. Jesus uses any story to further his kingdom.
I just watched the latest series with Micah and Jim talking about how God will use your story. What I've learned is God will redeem any story for His glory. No matter what you're facing and the battles you're facing, God will turn your story for good. This is what Jesus does.
I watched a few guys show up this weekend and courageously share their stories. It was heavy listening to what some men have gone through in life. However I know that God will use what they've gone through for His glory. I've seen it in my own life and I witness it throughout the Herd.
I encourage you to keep showing up, keep being honest and vulnerable in your groups. Never under estimate the power that your story has in helping other people. When men have the freedom to share, honestly what they've faced it builds a bond and a trust among your cohort or tribe of men. Your story matters and God will use it and redeem it if you let Him.
Have a great night.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths." — Proverbs 3:5–6 (ESV)
"Let us test and examine our ways and return to the Lord!" - Lamentations 3:40
“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” - Psalm 51:10
Good morning, men. One of the many things I’ve noticed in my life is the cost of asking God to search my heart and bring up any areas he wants work in. The cost is the things in my life God is going to ask me to submit to him. I’ve realized there’s been habits and patterns that I have become accustomed to and some I’ve been holding onto as a sense of comfort. Some are blatant sin, but some aren’t inherently sinful, but nevertheless prevent me from experiencing what God really wants for my life. Anytime we sit with God and get honest we risk having to lay down things in our life that don’t glorify God. I’ve spent plenty of time justifying to God why this certain thing isn’t that bad, but everything time I find Jesus asking me to submit those areas of my life to him.
Jesus doesn’t leave room for half in, half out when following Him. He wants every area of our life to be submitted to him. This is where the fun term of “progressive sanctification” comes. Simply means the continually process of us being transformed into the image of Jesus. Be patient because it takes time. I think we need to start with asking God to reveal those areas of our life not submitted to him. Be prepared to give up areas you’ve been comfortable in. The good news is what Jesus tells us he’ll give us in its place – peace, love, joy, etc.
Jesus wants to do a work in you, and he doesn’t do it all at once. At some level we all wish we were further along in the journey, at least I do. I heard a great analogy one time about life in Jesus.
There was a guy who was fairly fit. He ran, worked out and ate well. He was a runner and could go some distance when running. He had a routine checkup and the doctor said, “do you know you’re only using 60% of your lungs?” He couldn’t believe it. “How?” he said. “I feel great. I can run long distances and work out with no problems.” The doctor told him he has asthma. The man got an inhaler and the first time he used it he could breathe like never before. It opened a level of lung capacity he didn’t know existed. Great analogy, right? We may feel like we’re killing it. Could be great family, making great money, deadlift twice our body weight. Everything seems great, but until we allow God to expose the areas he wants to work in, lay them down and replace it with His love and peace, we’ll never know the real, full life God intended for us.
Have a great Tuesday.
24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
I also love this thought and have prayed it over the years.
I also connect with your line of thinking about being asked to sacrifice things that may not overtly be a sin. One of those for me was caffeine and the daily use of it to “get going” in the morning. It was a huge challenge and I had a headache for 9 days…lol. But looking back now my sleep has improved greatly both in quality and in length of time. A nice little atta boy from God.
Thanks kevin
