Well, i got a mile walk in this am, and multiple stretching, planks and pushup sets through the day. Got my journaling, prayer, fasting (ironically church is doing a fast as well right now), read exodus 1, act if kindness all done.. but why is it sooo hard to drink a gallon of water lol

New member. Navy vet with some back issues that really have been controlling my life far too long. I have been in physical therapy and on pain meds and even have a stimulator implant. Going to give this a try!

Praying for you; my wife had a spnlinal cord stimulator for ~5 years; didn't work and had it removed. slow n steady with respect to exercise! Strict form and remember to hydrate! Fair winds...

Navy disabled vet as well. I’m facing similar concerns. We can do this tho. Don’t push yourself beyond your limits but don’t make excuses for yourself either. This should be challenging but not painful. Nothing we haven’t pushed ourselves through in the service.

Thank you for your service. Also congratulations on stepping out and working towards Herd 90! I have also had back problems in the past. I had surgery in the 8th grade and haven't treated it very good since, including running heavy equipment the last 8 years. A resource I found to really help me is, Back Mechanic by Stuart McGill. He is a world leading expert in back health. The book is written in a way that normal people can understand it. He goes through what causes pain and how to help avoid it and also has a workout plan to help strengthen it. everything is at home body weight. At most I'd say you need a mat and a stretching strap. I'm doing the workout through the book and then stretching for my 45 minute inside workout. I have also recently found a great chiropractor to help get stuff moving correctly again. I have been using McGill's stuff on and off since around 2021 and it is really helped just even just working on my own. Typically I get to feeling better and stop doing the workout. First day underway! Joined the gym on the 1st and started some light exercises to get back into it (been a hot minute since I failed this last year - travel distracted me and I shouldn't have let it). Reading out loud to my wife and then prayer together makes it a better experience for me!
